Common Signs of Neurofibromatosis Type 1

• Neurofibromas lumps on the skin which usually appear at puberty
• Caf'e-au-lait-spots brown marks or patches on the skin you need 6 or more and larger than a 50p
• Family history of NF 1
• freckling under the arm or in the groin region
• Pigmented bumps on the eye's iris these are know as Lisch nodules and cause no problems
• Skeletal abnormalities such as tibia dysphasia (bowing of the legs), or thinning of the shin bone.
• Tumor on the optic nerve that may effect vision

• Scoliosis curvature of the spine
• Learning Difficulties
• Large Circumference of head
• Optic Gliomas tumor on the optic nerve usually appears in young children
• High Blood pressure
